A FUN, new Day Camp offered by

The Historical Society of  Washington, D.C.

August 2nd - 6th, 2010

9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Everyone is unique with a special story to tell.  Our campers will learn drama, music, and songs to explore their personal history and how their families, friends, and community have influenced who they are today.  Young actors will engage in improvisational techniques to retell their unique stories and learn to compose songs to accompany their skits.  Friends and family are invited on the final day for a premiere performance.

This engaging camp also includes a fieldtrip, walking tour, and a workshop in Tai Chi.

Grades 5 - 7.  General Admission $225.  HSW Members $200.  Camp limit 25.

Instructors:

Kimberly Rattley brings a wealth of experience and passion for the power of the Arts to change people's lives.  She has worked with children of all ages as a counselor and artist in many schools throughout the DC Metro Area.  She brings her experience of having traveled extensively nationally and internationally doing Playback Theatre workshops to the young people in D.C.

Marcia McIntryre, a violinist and singer for over 20 years, enjoys sharing music in many different ways as a freelance artist.  She teaches violin and performs in various venues.  Learning Playback Theatre, over 4 years ago, Ms. McIntyre integrates the two art forms and welcomes the opportunity to teach it to people of all ages.
